Chapter 23

Shortly after an introduction from Burgess and Gunflint, Justin enters the room, looking better than ever.

"Hikaru?" Justin spoke. "What's going on here?"

"Justin!" Hikaru gasped. "You're ok!"

Hikaru rushes towards Justin.

"Of course I'm ok," said Justin. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't. What's going on here?"

"I'm glad you're here, Justin," Lydia Celia spoke. "And alive as well. We're going to have a meeting."

The meeting took place back at Azurine's medical room, where Emily and Liza sleep still, but expecting to awake soon. Azurine does a quick medical check-up on Justin, to make certain that he is completely healed. Justin got caught by the attention by two strange girls.

"Umm...it's a pleasure to meet you," said Justin. "My name is Justin. What are your names?"

"I am Gunflint."

"And I am Burgess."

"You may not look like it, but you seem strong," said Gunflint.

"Stronger than even a million men," said Burgess.

"I wouldn't say that," Justin laughed.

"You look much better, monsieur Justin," Azurine spoke. "You're good to go."

"Thank you, Azurine."

Suddenly, just as the meeting is about to begin, a crashing noise is heard, coming from Teela's pool.

Horace fights off with Ammolite, with his wooden club against her ginormous red tiger-striped whip. Ammolite's whip makes a clever and clean cut between Horace's shoulders and torso.

"Where are they?!" Ammolite shouted. "I know you're hiding them!"

The McLeods, the Androids, and Justin arrived shortly after her next whip. Phenice leaps into the air, throwing her spiderweb net at her, but she dodged before the net reached the ground.

Teela jumped into the pool and evolved into her true form, creating a waterspout. Miya summons her fire sprites and ordered them to burn off her whip. Genevieve sings a beautiful alto note causing her ears cease to screeching noise.

Burgess and Gunflint transformed their left hands into pistols and fire at Ammolite. Hikaru and Justin grabbed at each end of Phenice's net and managed to catch her. Justin tied up a knot and threw her into the whirlpool. Ammolite struggles to get out of the net before she drowns, but Rosabel, Grizzel, Kiona, and Azurine pulled her to surface. Ammolite coughs for air.

"All right," said Lydia Celia. "I've had enough of you circus freaks terrorizing us and our town. We all know why you all are here--to search for your false queen's child."

"Never speak ill to our beloved queen!" Ammolite yelled. "I've only come here to fetch our associates."

"They are not your associates," said Teela. "You guys brainwashed them and forced them to serve you. There's no way you would get them back."

"And there's no way for you to escape," said Grizzel.

Burgess and Gunflint pointed their guns at Ammolite's head. Furiously, Ammolite makes a realistic tiger's growl, loud enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. Suddenly, three red tigers burst into the pool and attacked the clan. Horace and Justin whacks them with their punches and Hikaru shielded herself with her powers. One tiger is able to break Ammolite free while the other two are pronounced dead.

"We shall never give up," said Ammolite. "Our time of battle is nigh and all of you will fail, I can promise you that."

She and the tiger disappear into the sky.
