Kiki and Jiji

This two adorable kittens we rescued are getting bigger, cuter, and sweeter! The one on the right is Kiki and the left is Jiji.

Kiki, the furriest of the two, can climb up from my leg up to your chest or shoulder as I try to feed them and can only let go as soon as I put their food down. She also does it out of affection whenever you sit on a chair. She's got the loudest of purrs and she can pounce and attack as she pleases.

Jiji, my favorite, is a bit calmer than her sister, and loves to be near your face and when I or my brother-in-law sit down, she normally likes to stay on the shoulder and whenever she's in the mood, can sit on our heads. She normally comes as you call her and loves to sit on your lap as long as she doesn't take control of the remote or the video game console.

So here's the full story--I was doing laundry at my apartment's complex and I heard a strange cry. I thought it was a bat making a noise, but it turned out to be a newborn kitten, covered in placenta, was just born behind the machine. I had to climb through the electrical cables that connect to the machines and grabbed it out of the cold floor. My sister, my brother-in-law and I thought it was the only one, but they checked it again the next morning and found another. And I found the third one the next morning as well. Unfortunately, the third one didn't make it because it was born very weak and it broke my heart as we tried to save it. But despite about what had happened, I volunteered to get up early in the morning to bottle-feed them and reheat their bottles to keep them warm. Since they're about 2 months old now, (they're still small) they can feed and play independently and develop their unique personalities and quirks.

We're in the process of finding homes for them, but I'm trying my bet to keep Jiji as they had two big cats in their apartment already and I could use my own companion to walk with and to pet with.
