Benny, Leo, and Johnny's Adventures in the Hunt of the Gem

Chapter 9

"Now wait just a minute!" Bruma exclaimed. "After all the trouble we've been in from searching that gemstone to nearly get killed in the process, how can we assume that the gemstone is inside your body, Aurora?"

"There's only one way to find out," Ludwig spoke.

Ludwig rushed and picked up his own X-Ray machine and places it in front of Aurora. He turned it on and looked all over her skeletal body.

"Hmm...Well, I don't see anything, except..."

He and the gang noticed the X-Ray dimming.

"I could've sworn I had that thing recharged before we left the lab!" shouted Ludwig, banging at his X-Ray.

"No, I think it's something else," said Leo. "Rae, take out your brooch."

"Why?" Rae asked.

"I want to see if your magic can respond towards Aurora. Give it a try."

Rae nodded in agreement, took out her brooch and walks towards Aurora. The brooch glows and dims like the X-Ray.

"It acts the same way as the X-Ray does," said Rae. "This doesn't make any sense."

"Can you try it with a spell?" Johnny asked.

"I guess so."

Rae opens the brooch to reveal a small but beautiful silver crystal that continues glowing, but before she can utter a spell, the crystal glows as brightly as ever. As it glows, so does Aurora.

Everybody witnesses as it happens and then suddenly, a flash occur, nearly blinding anybody. After the flash, the Gemstone of Purpose appears!

"That couldn't be--" Kairel spoke.

"That's the one we're looking for, right?" Panthy asked.

"Looks like we found it," said Benny.

Aurora dropped her jaw in amazement as she sees the Gemstone of Purpose in front of her. A moment later, Aurora and the brooch stopped glowing, resulting the gem went back inside Aurora's body.

"What are we going to do now?" Dagnino asked.

"We have to protect Aurora from Scylla," said Leo. He grabbed Aurora's hand. "I swear Aurora that no harm shall come to you."

Aurora smiled as an expression of thanking Leo, not to mention a small amount of blush came from her cheeks.

Suddenly, a crash occurred and Heath appears in front of the group. His eyes glows red and expresses an evil grin. Rae summons everyone's weapons from her brooch and prepare for an attack.

"Is it just me?" spoke Xiro. "or did Heath made himself ugly?"

Ludwig puts on his goggles and inside the goggles leave out numerous status and details.

"Watch out, everyone!" Ludwig shouted. "What you see right now is no Heath. Scylla's has taken over him!"

Heath turned his attention over to Ludwig and fires his laser gun at Ludwig, causing him to dodge and hide. As he laughs evilly, they can hear not Heath's but Scylla's speech.

"You pathetic fools," Scylla spoke. "Now that you shown me where the gem truly is, that girl belongs to me. Surrender her to me!"

"Fat chance, Scylla!" Benny roared. He and everyone shoot out energy streams at Heath, but he quickly dodges and disappears. He then reappears behind Aurora and knocked her unconscious.

"AURORA!" Leo screamed, making his attack with Excalibur. Heath creates a fireball and aims at Leo.

"If you wish to challenge and determine the fate of the world, come near Heath's warehouse," said Scylla. "And if you value the life of the descendant of Rose Aurora Worgen."

Heath then disappears. Leo burst into tears of shame and hatred. Benny, Johnny, and Rae comes to comfort him.

"We'll get her back, Leo," said Benny.

"We'll get that witch even if it cost us our furs," said Johnny.

Leo smiles as he and the others prepare for the final battle.
